How we manage written translation at KLS, step by step
At KLS, written translation follows a clear 5-step workflow.
We work in full compliance with ISO 17100 — the international standard that defines each stage, from briefing to archiving.
Step 1: Understanding the client’s needs
We don’t just “take the text and translate it.”
We ask: What is the purpose of the text? What style is needed? Is there existing terminology or a glossary?
Step 2: Project setup
We assign a linguist with the right qualifications and experience.
We prepare detailed instructions. If no glossary exists, we align terminology with the client.
Step 3: Translation + independent editor
Every translation undergoes two layers of linguistic review: first by the translator, then by an independent editor.
This is a mandatory requirement under ISO 17100.
Step 4: Final QA by the project manager
We double-check technical specs, formatting, and compliance with instructions.
We don’t just “deliver the file” — we make sure it’s ready for immediate use.
Step 5: Archiving and feedback
All projects are stored in a secure environment.
We always invite the client to share their feedback — and we use it to improve continuously.
Step 6: Post-delivery support
If needed, we provide additional edits or clarifications after the client has reviewed the final file.
